The seed is where it all starts. We use multiple types of seeds from different suppliers. We do not knowingly buy or sell genetically engineered or modified seeds or plants. We use open pollinated, hybrid and organic seeds. Less than one hundredths percent of our seeds (pumpkin and some squash varieties only) may have been treated with an anti fungal coating to protect them from rot and disease.
Pesticides We do not apply any pesticides or herbicides to our vegetable plants.
Growth Retardants We do not apply any growth retardants to our vegetable plants.
Fertilizers We use Nature’s Source 10-4-3 plant food and Nature’s Source Probiotics on our vegetable plants. The main ingredient is non-GMO oilseed extract, a renewable source of plant nutrition. It is blended with additional nitrogen, phosphates, potash, ammonia and urea nutrients to create optimally balanced nutrition for plants. Contains less than one present synthetic fertilizer.
Open Pollination - Open pollination is pollination by insects, birds, wind or other
natural mechanisms. The seeds of open-pollinated plants will produce new generations
Hybrid - Hybrid pollination, a type of controlled pollination in which the pollen comes from a different strain (or species), can be used to increase crop suitability.
Organic - Organic seeds are seeds that have been produced entirely through organic practices by a certified organic operation. In order to be sold as such, they must be produced by such a facility, which has been certified by an accredited government agency.
